The Heterotopian Tesseract

What if the Akragon tower would show the shift of power due to the communication revolution and counteract the showcase of political and economic power? The Arab Spring Revolution is a compelling example of how powerful the tools of social media can unfold nowadays. I believe this is exactly where ‘real power’ comes into existence: when social media communication becomes physical reality. The result of my design is an infinite amount of small gathering spaces that are vertically and horizontally connected inside the Akragon tower, creating the experience of a heterotopian space.

The Heterotopian Tesseract offers spaces where networks of people can meet, where power can shift and new connections can be made. It is a place for empowerment. The start of a revolution…
