The project involves creating 3D sculptures based on images of underground artifacts from the Rijksmuseum Depot. These sculptures reflect not only the objects themselves but also the spatial structure of the depot where they are stored. By generating these sculptures to scale, the work captures the physical dimensions and the confinement of the storage area. The project examines the relationship between these colonial artifacts and their place in the archive, highlighting the tension between preservation and concealment. Through this recontextualization, the sculptures offer a visual exploration of how historical objects are managed, revealing the layers of control and curation involved in their storage. The work invites viewers to reflect on the unseen spaces where history is kept.
