Understanding the complexity of spaces demands layers of information and stories. The methodology here is being crafted to broaden the potential of intertwining images and history. It involves observation, documentation, subtraction and transformation to develop a new visual language for storytelling. Time, movement, and events collectively shape the identity of space.
Using the new visual diagram to connect various inputs into installation, focusing on the idea that space is produced through social practices across time and space. The social research, collecting interviews in an edited documentary provides a valuable platform for studying and sharing socio-spatial narratives, allowing for a nuanced understanding of the impact and history of the Chinese community in Katendrecht. The integration of a documentary screening with a spatial installation incorporating travel documents demonstrates a multifaceted approach to exploring complex themes such as space, migration, and identity.
