This collaborative project with (Mila Broomberg) visually connects the wreckage of WWII aircraft with the unique landscape of Flevoland, exploring the intricate relationship between historical events and the terrain shaped by the Zuiderzee Works. By examining the remnants of these aircraft, we aim to highlight how the scars of war intersect with the engineered landscapes of the Netherlands, where nearly 40% of the land has been reclaimed from water. Through a careful analysis of both the wreckage and the surrounding environment, we illustrate how these fragments of history resonate within the contemporary landscape, prompting reflections on memory, loss, and resilience. This project seeks to create a dialogue between the past and present, revealing how the remnants of conflict continue to influence our understanding of the land and its history.
