bending over backwards

The project represents a personal everyday ritual of folding the packaging of consumed products. The expression, ‘bending over backwards’ is translated into the extra time the maker took to fold these objects, while the action itself is unnecessary and serves no further purpose.
The repetition present in these sculptures shows the obsolete, mental necessity of compulsive behavior. Ultimately, it serves as the exemplification of the compulsive pursuit of perfection through the litany of folding, while the flaws inherent to human action remain.
