Preyscape is a term devised in an attempt to interpret the decay process as a ‘landscape of being eaten.’ Death unfolds through a continuous cycle of consumption and metamorphosis.

This concept views decay not merely as disappearance, but as an active space of being eaten, digested, and transformed by living organisms. As life devours, the dead are dispersed and reconfigured into new forms of existence. By tracking these microbial consuming movements in the decay and converting them into vibrational data, it visualizes the vitality hidden within decay—the struggle for survival, energy, and motion. It makes the invisible dynamics of decay perceptible. Preyscape is an image of dissolution and a living landscape of transformation.
