Kinematic Dialogue

Kinematic Dialogue explores the relationship between the spectator, the medium and the space. By giving a new reading to my apartment staircase in Rotterdam, the transit space is transformed into a hybrid space of the physical and virtual. The hybrid dialogue allows a new, unpredicted experience for the viewer.
Using the cinematic apparatus including motion, light, abstraction and sound, the audience is guided to form a dialogue between itself and the moving image. This conversation offers the possibility for the space to expand, collapse, and reveal with the change of sound. The experience is unique for each individual or collective – It permits a dialogue to happen alongside moments of breaking the fourth wall between the physical and virtual.
