Radio Killed The Electric Star

Alice Bonicelli and Lorena Rubio Toledo

2015

Our habitat is pervaded by electromagnetic radiations deriving from electronic devices. This invisible network of waves forms a radio-scape in our environment, and surrounds us ubiquitously. Instead of shielding ourselves from these omnipresent radio waves, we speculate on future possibilities of using them as open-source energy.

Our wireless lamps are activated whenever they encounter an electromagnetic field and thus reveal the invisible presence of the radio-scape. The magic of this wireless interaction hints at new scenarios of living in the electromagnetic habitat.
