Panes: unclick/unshield

Panes: unclick/unshield track designed objects that have undergone appropriation. They have been turned inside out, cut open, stuffed, and recast. My process is guided by a fascination with the strange power invested in designed objects as a result of their entanglement with the human body, which they in turn shape and are shaped by. In order to convey this tension, my work stages a physical encounter with specific materialities. The presentation circumstances demanded improvisation and so this digital manifestation of Panes: unclick/unshield, the scanner was used as a mediator between the analogue sculptures and the visual encounter enabled by the screen and the website; the scanner acts as an inquisitive gaze into a dim interior.
