Interstices
Filippo Tartaglia
2018
I started from a poem by Fernando Pessoa that does not speak about art or architecture, that uses the term interstices to talk about God and esotericism. It is interesting to observe how different disciplines can overlap and merge. This is what I tried to do, describing space with poetry (or poetry with space).
Through a personal method of investigation, that throughout the course was represented by the three phases of action, observation and understanding, the aim was to be able to identify hidden spatial realities. Hidden not to the human eye, which nowadays can explore everything, but to sensory perception. The drawings and the plaster sculpture are the result of a sensory and tactile approach to the subject. All my work gives an enormous importance to touch, placing it as the first cognitive tool.
