Floating Balcony

Floating Balcony started with the paradoxical relationship in museum space. In museums, the eyes of the subject and the object are intertwined. The question of what and how we look is related to where we stand. The project focuses on the balcony as a surface that transparently shows the contradictory situation inherent in the museum. The balcony is a platform that assesses the exterior and a hint of the interior. The person standing on the balcony is seen and seeing at the same time also being between interior and exterior. The balcony is a space between the individual and the public, political power and everyday leisure – inside and outside. By creating the reflection between object, viewer and shadows, this project aims to mimic the paradoxical structure of the balcony and present its floating atmosphere.
