Fire to the fortified backyard

Oosterwold in Almere executed a MVRDV masterplan of “Freeland” where the residents are free and expected to co-construct their city from the ground. In order to promote openness and interaction fences have to be low and transparent. However, the land there is cheap and that also attracted investors that are starting to fill the land plots with development projects that can avoid adhering to these rules of openness and interaction and build garden walls around their plots that are very common in Dutch suburbs. They are built around open front windows but fortified backyards.
An oven was built that can break through the separations by being both a fence and a pizza oven that can be accessed from both sides of the garden wall.
