Nieuwe Instituut is happy to be collaborating with the MIARD program this year as a part of our project Digital Re-born. The project is aimed at increasing the usability, accessibility and sustainability of the born-digital collection. In this pilot project, students from the MIARD program (Masters of Interior Architecture, Research and Design at the Piet Zwart Institute) will gain access to an edited selection of files from MVRDV projects to use during the Multiple Media course led by Studio High Rise and Thematic Design Project led by Ephraim Joris. The files from the projects MVRVTP087 | MetaCity Datatown and MVRVTP181 | PigCity, serve as inspiration in generating artistic concepts, tools and methods in their own research.

Our collaboration with the MIARD program is aimed at generating creative reuse possibilities that gain user feedback for attracting the next generation of researchers to the born digital collection. The results of this pilot will give us insights into how to generate better public access to the Nieuwe Instituut’s born digital collection for the future.
