Nebula

2018

With light pollution levels near 90% in Europe and North America our nights have turned into days. Our night skies and stars have slowly faded over our metropolises. As a result of this condition, our illuminated cities, highways and refineries have cast their own inverse constellations, creating networks of light that are visible from outer space.

The short movie Nebula tries to illustrate this condition by combining video material from the area of Pernis Harbor with a monologue from Alan Brennert’s movie adaption of the short story, ‘The Star’ by Arthur C. Clarke.
