M.A.D. Disruptions

2020

M.A.D. is a speculative spatial manifesto addressing the epistemo-political mutations that have been generated by the disruptive impact of COVID-19.
The manifesto presents a triptych, historically and architecturally tracing back to Neoclassicism, the time when the process of Industrialisation of western societies began. During the Industrial Revolution, for the first time, fossil fuels energy sources were implied and the new scientific method started by Galileo Galilei led to a sensitive and unprecedented increase in the knowledge that Europeans had about nature and especially about materials and their properties. According to Dialectical Materialism, it was through the Industrial Revolution that Capitalisms affirmation took place.
The manifesto suggests a radical architectural aesthetic that explores the transformation of the human understanding of the environment.
