Lenscape

Lenscape is an exploration of the window as a basic architectural element and the way it can be designed into an interactive feature in the interior. The project alters the traditional way a window transmits daylight, while also manipulating the framed view. By the use of optical lenses something as mundane as a window becomes a filter that distorts, reflects, focuses and diffuses the light, changing not only the intensity of the light but also obscures the appearance of the interior and the outside projection. It makes the daylight an adjustable light source, allowing for a flexible interior atmosphere throughout the day.

The use of a series of rotating frames allows the convex lenses the ability to shift and change direction in order to potentiate the projection of the daylight transmitted with the added purpose of also being a filter in the interior.
