Genetic Resonance

This series began as the preliminary exploration for the development of a graduation project.  Here I was interested in how I could translate human gene expression data as a spatial designer. Using the principles of parametric design, I established a new structure by which to visualize gene expression data normally reserved for the fields of molecular biology and pharmaceutical study. This information captures a snapshot of a system in a constant state of change; therefore I chose to challenge the linear representation of this behavior and translate it into a circular composition. It is while working with this data that I began to understand the “elastic” nature of our molecular composition. Drugs introduced into our bodies actually have the ability to alter the way our genes behave for a period, but ultimately they will return to a baseline or original state.
